Early Childhood
The school believes children learn most effectively surrounded in a successful, positive environment. The visual, auditory, and kinesthetic teaching techniques are all incorporated into the classroom to cater to each child's unique way of learning. Individual growth and learning is a priority.
Oak Hall offers a structured and sequential curriculum for 3 year olds through Grade 6. Each grade level has its own academic goals and objectives that are child-centered, and developmentally appropriate for each grade level. In a constant search for ways to improve the curriculum, it is analyzed annually for changes, additions, and revisions that are relevant to the students' learning.
The school promotes small class sizes for more individualized instruction with the students by maintaining a low pupil to teacher ratio. Students are given the opportunity to use higher level thinking skills, practice problem-solving techniques, and express themselves verbally and in writing. After completing the sixth grade, 95% of Oak Hall's students are placed in accelerated classes in language arts and mathematics when transitioning to public schools.
