I am excited to join Oak Hall Episcopal School as the Middle School Writing and 6th grade World History Teacher.

I have been a civil litigator in the Southern Oklahoma area for the past six years at Akers Law, PLLC. I am currently the city attorney for two area municipalities, and served as fill-in municipal judge for the City of Ardmore for over two years.

I bring a strong writing background and have experience working with middle school students. During graduate school, I taught and tutored undergraduates, and for over two years I served as the Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church in Ardmore. As an attorney, I must draft polished and compelling legal pleading and communications.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts, summat cum laude, in Anthropology, a Master of Theological Studies from Harvard University, a Ph. D.from the University of Denver, and a JD from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. While I'm not entirely closing my law practice, this position at Oak Hall allows me to return to my first love: writing and teaching.

My wife Laura is the President of the McCroy Foundation, a nonprofit family foundation dedicated to serving Carter County. Many of you may already know me through my son, Everett, a rising Kindergartner and big brother to Emerson, who was born in April 2024.
