My goal is to empower young minds by training them to think critically and reason well while working in community together. I have been able to work toward this goal across a range of scientific and technical fields from Chemistry and Earth Science to Medical Assisting. I taught vocational education and high school Chemistry when I lived in Virginia. When I moved to Oklahoma, I served as an elementary teacher, and then I transitioned to science research at the Noble Research Institute from 2010 to 2021. I have had the privilege to be the science teacher at Oak Hall since 2021.
I graduated in 1996 from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During the summers, I worked as a YMCA Day Camp counselor and participated in a grant-funded project encouraging young women to pursue STEM related fields.
Together with my husband, Dennis, we have four children, two daughters-in-law, and seven grandchildren. Our eldest, Steven, is a professional truck driver based in Iowa. Our other children live in Oklahoma, Michael is a computer programmer for LegalShield in Ada while Caleb and Darcy live and work here in Ardmore.
